Book Signing at The Book Review in Falmouth

The authors of children's book, "Pericles and Philomina, A True Greek Kitty Love Story", will be signing their new book...a true story about two Greek rescued cats (now living in Yarmouth). Come to this charming book store, meet the authors and cats, and enjoy small refreshments at this special book signing event. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will go to HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team - Adoption Center and Shelter) in Cumberland.

Preschool Open House

Pine Grove Child Development is having a "Open House and Outdoor Discovery" event for parents and preschool age children (ages almost 3 - 6) who are curious about Montessori education. It will be held on Saturday, May 1sr (rain date May 8th) from 10 11:30 a.m. Children will enjoy Pine Grove's nature preserve surroundings through playground fun and hands-on nature discovery in our "Critter Cabin" Families can also walk the town forest marked trails and bring a picnic lunch. Summer Youth Employment Project, River Point, Falmouth, Maine

This program focuses on at-risk teens. It teaches organic farming practices to low-income African immigrants and their families. The town of Falmouth, Maine allowed the program to use town own land called The River Point property, which is 41 acres of former farmland.

Summer 2010 Falmouth Community

The Summer 2010 Brochure is arriving in mailboxes and registration is now open for Falmouth residents only (non-residents may register after April 30th.) The brochure is available for viewing on the town website http://www.town.falmouth.me.us/Pages/FalmouthME_Community/docs/programbrochure.pdf

You may register online (a 6.5% convenience fee does apply for all online registrations only), you may come into the Community Programs office on the 2nd floor of Town Hall, or print off a registration form from the Community Programs page and mail it in. As always, we cannot take any phone registrations or hold any spots. Registration is on a first come/first served basis and is not considered final until we have received payment or a payment plan as been arranged (in-office only).

Office hours are Monday 7am-5pm, Tuesday-Thursday 8am-5pm and we are CLOSED on Fridays.

We do not take phone registrations so please use the online option, put it in our drop box, mail in a registration or stop in and see us.

In an effort to align with the town’s Cool City initiatives, we will no longer be mailing brochures to all residents starting with the Fall brochure. Kids don’t have to wait for summer to go to camp. During spring school-vacation week, Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth engages children in grades 1-5 with group games, creative arts, and nature explorations on a 65-acre sanctuary.

There will be a GIANT BOOK SALE at the Falmouth Memorial Library, 5 Lunt Road, Falmouth, Saturday, April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday April 11 from l p.m. to 5 p.m.

April is Poetry Month! Poet Laureate and Cafe Review editor Steve Luttrell will be the guest speaker at LunchBox Friends at the Falmouth Memorial Library on Tuesday, April 13 beginning at noon.
