SALSA AND MERENGUE WORKSHOPS

 
 
Workshops created especially for beginners who have never taken a dance class.  Focus is on elements of leading and following, dancing partnered or solo, and truly feeling the music.  If you use your body correctly and learn basic concepts of Latin movement, you can enjoy yourself and look good at the same time.  Learn all the fundamentals needed to go out dancing, participate while n a cruise and continue a structured Salsa education.  This is a great night out; dance and go have dinner after class on Saturday, May 4 and Saturday, May 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Plummer Motz School, Mason Gym.  FMI 781-5253

CAKE DECORATING GRADES 1 - 5

 
 
Just in time for Mother's Day. The European Bakery will teach you first hand how to decorate a cake.  You will be given your own cake to frost and decorate.  Learn what it takes to pipe a border, make some flowers, or keep a steady hand while writing.  The event will be on Thursday, May 9 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. at the European Bakery. Falmouth Community Programs and Falmouth Memorial Library will be showing movies on a monthly basis.  Movies start at 1 p.m.  Pre-registration required as space is limited.  FMI please pick up flyers at either the Library or the FCP office. The next movie is scheduled for April 23 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.  There is no charge.

Would you like to have more confidence when using a computer, whether you use your own or one of the public computers at the library?  These workshops will help you with e-mail messages, photos and other attachments, assist yo in becoming more familiar and comfortable during the internet, as well as help you learn how to join Facebook.  Bring your laptop.  If you do not have a laptop, please indicate that prior to class and we will make every effort to accommodate.  The next class is from 2 to 3 p.m. on April 16.FMI and registration 781-5253

Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19 children in grades 1-5 are invited to register for the Maine Audubon Gilsland Farm April vacation camp.  A new theme will be introduced each day through cooperative games, creative arts and exploration.  Programs are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Campers may sign up for individual days or attend the entire week.  Inquire about scholarships at 781-2330, ext. 273

The Falmouth Town Council will hold a special meeting on the Proposed FY2014 Municipal and School Budget on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Falmouth Elementary School.  A public forum will be held to seek public input and inquiries immediately following the budget presentation.  The draft budgets are posted on the website at www.town.falmouth.me.us and www.falmouthschools.org.  For more information call 781-5253 ext.5335

On Monday April 8th,the Town Council will conduct a Public Hearing at 7:00 PM on the June 2013 Referendum question for the infrastructure project.
 
On Monday April 22nd, the Town Council is expected to conduct a Public Hearing at 7:00 PM on the proposed zoning amendments.
 
You are welcome to comment at any of these meetings. You also may contact the Council via e-mail with your feedback on the public improvements or re-zoning.
