New Years Eve marriage licenses - Falmouth

MARRIAGE LICENSES

The Falmouth Town Clerk will be holding special office hours, by appointment only, to issue marriage licenses at midnight and noon on December 29, 2012. Please contact Ellen Planer, Town Clerk, to schedule an appointment no later than 4 p.m. on December 27, 2012. Appointments can be scheduled by e-mail (eplaner@town.falmouth.me.us) telephone (699-5305) or in person during normal business hours.

TOY DRIVE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN.


The Town Council will collect unwrapped, new toys and books from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Plummer-Motz School, and again on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m. Donations will be picked up by the Metrobus and distributed to children through WGME's Joy of Sharing program.

Falmouth Memorial Library will hold a used book sale on Saturday, December 8 between 9 am – 4 pm.  The sale will be held in the Motz school building at the corner of Middle and Lunt roads, just down the street from the Library.  FMI: 781-2351

First Annual "Shop Falmouth" Event!

Event activities:

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5 - The 26th Annual Falmouth Community Tree Lighting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Falmouth Village.
There will be cookie decorating, singing and a visit from Santa.
Honoring the holiday spirit, please bring a canned good to donate to the Falmouth Food Pantry.

THURSDAY - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 7 AND 8 - The Theatre Company at Falmouth High will present, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Show times are Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m.; Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door: $7.00 for adults, $5 for students, children and senors. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 - Falmouth Community Programs is sponsoring a "Drop and Shop" for children from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Plummer Motz School.
The cost is $16 per child. Children must be kindergarten to Grade 6.
Pizza and a good evening of fun and games are planned for the children. Reservations required 781-5253 x 5302

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 - The Falmouth Town Council is collecting new, unwrapped toys and books for children in need this Holiday season from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Plummer-Motz School Office. The METRO TOY Bus will deliver your generous donations to WGME for distribution through The Joy of Sharing holiday giving program.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 - The Maine Audubon is sponsoring their extremely popular annual morning "Eyes on Owls" program. Naturalist Marcia Wilson and photographer Mark Wilson will present theowls. There will be hooting lessons, an entertaining slide show and a close-up look at several different species. The morning is tailored to young children.
This is one of the most popular events at the Audubon so you are encouraged to make a reservation at 781-2330 x 273.


SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 - Family Ice will be open during the week-end. 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 - Volksmarch - the "People's Walk" will start at the Maine Audubon Society at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth. Gather friends and family of all ages and enjoy this non-competitive walk.
You may chose a 5K or 10K route. This is a self guided walk that you do at your pace with a few treats and surprises along the way.
Walking routes are available the day of the event. Start time is anytime between 9 a.m. to Noon. Pre-registration is not required. FMI 781-2330

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 - "Wreaths Across America" will be coming through Falmouth Route One between 4:25 and 4:45 p.m. on its' way to Arlington Cemetery. The convey is made up of 50 vehicles including tractor trailers, motorcycles, support vehicles and police vehicles. The route of the convoy will disclosed in the Forecaster at a later date.

Maine State Ballet presents “The Magic Toy Shop”

Maine State Ballet presents “The Magic Toy Shop,” a charming one-act ballet for audiences young and old, performed live at the Maine State Ballet Theater in Falmouth. The approximate length is one hour.


When: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
