Volunteers needed for new Zoning Review Committee

This committee has been formed by the Town Council to assist the Community Development Sub-Committee of the Town Council and staff with the administrative rewrite of the Zoning and Site Plan Review and the Subdivision Ordinance.  The goal of the rewrite is to simplify, clarify and provide ease of use of the Ordinances for the public and staff.  Applications are due by June 6.  If you are interested please go to http://www.town.falmouth.me.us/Pages/FalmouthME_BComm/volunteer, fill out the online form below and click "send". If you prefer, paper applications are available from the Town Clerk’s office. Drop off paper applications to the Town Clerk or mail to the Town of Falmouth, 271 Falmouth Rd, Falmouth ME 04105.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

Organized by the Falmouth American Legion Memorial Post #164
and sponsored by the Town of Falmouth
 
The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. from the American Legion Post, 65 Depot Road, proceed to Foreside Road
and continue south on Foreside Road to Pine Grove Park where ceremonies will include 
 performances by the Falmouth middle and high school bands and choruses.
 Refreshments will be served on the lawn of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Mac User Group at Falmouth Memorial Library

Come to an introductory meeting at the Falmouth Memorial Library on Thursday, May 16th from 2:00 to 3:00pm to talk about setting up a local Mac User Group.  We’ll discuss best days and times to meet, possible meeting topics and speakers, and how we’d like the group to run. Martin's Point Bridge

A public informational meeting to present the final design decisions on such items as landscaping, lighting, public art, fishing platforms, and railing styles for the Martin's Point Bridge located on US Route 1, crossing over the Presumpscot River between Falmouth and Portland will take place on Monday, May 6 at 6 pm at the Portland City Hall State of Maine Room.

All members of the public are welcome to attend and ask questions on the design items and the status of the construction. Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Auxiliary aids will be provided upon advance request.

The Falmouth Public Works Department has organic compost in supply this spring. Many residents are already taking advantage of this natural and reusable product for their gardens, lawns, and landscaping. We hope other residents will take advantage of this product, which is for sale at a fraction of the cost of wholesale distributors.
