TOY DRIVE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN

TOY DRIVE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN.


The Town Council will collect unwrapped, new toys and books from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Plummer-Motz School, and again on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m. Donations will be picked up by the Metrobus and distributed to children through WGME's Joy of Sharing program.

First Annual "Shop Falmouth" Event!

Event activities:

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5 - The 26th Annual Falmouth Community Tree Lighting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Falmouth Village.
There will be cookie decorating, singing and a visit from Santa.
Honoring the holiday spirit, please bring a canned good to donate to the Falmouth Food Pantry.

THURSDAY - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 7 AND 8 - The Theatre Company at Falmouth High will present, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Show times are Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m.; Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door: $7.00 for adults, $5 for students, children and senors. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 - Falmouth Community Programs is sponsoring a "Drop and Shop" for children from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Plummer Motz School.
The cost is $16 per child. Children must be kindergarten to Grade 6.
Pizza and a good evening of fun and games are planned for the children. Reservations required 781-5253 x 5302

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 - The Falmouth Town Council is collecting new, unwrapped toys and books for children in need this Holiday season from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Plummer-Motz School Office. The METRO TOY Bus will deliver your generous donations to WGME for distribution through The Joy of Sharing holiday giving program.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 - The Maine Audubon is sponsoring their extremely popular annual morning "Eyes on Owls" program. Naturalist Marcia Wilson and photographer Mark Wilson will present theowls. There will be hooting lessons, an entertaining slide show and a close-up look at several different species. The morning is tailored to young children.
This is one of the most popular events at the Audubon so you are encouraged to make a reservation at 781-2330 x 273.


SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 - Family Ice will be open during the week-end. 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 - Volksmarch - the "People's Walk" will start at the Maine Audubon Society at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth. Gather friends and family of all ages and enjoy this non-competitive walk.
You may chose a 5K or 10K route. This is a self guided walk that you do at your pace with a few treats and surprises along the way.
Walking routes are available the day of the event. Start time is anytime between 9 a.m. to Noon. Pre-registration is not required. FMI 781-2330

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 - "Wreaths Across America" will be coming through Falmouth Route One between 4:25 and 4:45 p.m. on its' way to Arlington Cemetery. The convey is made up of 50 vehicles including tractor trailers, motorcycles, support vehicles and police vehicles. The route of the convoy will disclosed in the Forecaster at a later date.

SHOP FALMOUTH EVENT

The Town of Falmouth is partnering with local businesses


to host a SHOP FALMOUTH EVENT.

The multi-day event festivities include a Community Programs Drop and Shop for children on Friday, shopping events throughout local businesses, ME Audubon’s Annual Eyes on Owls Weekend, a Sunday Volksmarch, Wreath’s Across America motorcade, a toy drive and much more!

The Falmouth Economic Improvement Committee in an effort to support local retail and professional service businesses, shops and non-profits is planning the First Annual Shop Falmouth Event on December 7,8 and 9. Chairman of the Event Committee, Anne Theriault is asking owners to participate in the event and encourages businesses to offer shopping incentives. SHOP TILL YOU DROP


The Falmouth Economic Improvement Committee is committed to helping businesses in Falmouth. Several months ago the Committee began discussions about a Falmouth Annual Event. Anne Theriault, Chairman of the Annual Event Committee just announced that the event will take place on December 7, 8 and 9. A committee comprised of Lucky Dascanio, Director of Falmouth Committee Programs, Karen Wood,Publisher of the Falmouth Forecaster, Anne Verril, Owner of the Falmouth Foreside Tavern, Shay of Sashay's Shop, Ron Stephan and Greg Dube, owners of Ricetta's in Falmouth, Carroll Tiernan of the Maine Audubon Society, Catherine Valenza of True North, Ann Armstrong of Gorham Savings Bank, Cassie Freedman of Lots for Tots, Elizabeth Moss of Moss Galleries and Nancy Ladd, Falmouth resident serve on the Committee

The event will begin with a "Drop and Shop" on Friday night, December 7 sponsored by the Falmouth Community Programs for adults to leave children who will be treated to games and pizza. The Maine Audubon will be hosting its' Annual Owl's week-end (register early because it sells out early) and Volkmarch.
