Eyes on Owls at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth

Eyes on Owls at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth

Join naturalist Marcia Wilson, photographer Mark Wilson, and six live owls for an event devoted to these wonderful birds. The program includes a slideshow introduction to owls of New England and beyond, a hooting lesson, tips on finding owls without disturbing them, and an opportunity to see seven live owls. We will have intimate looks at those species native to the region and beyond — everything from the diminutive saw-whet owl to the giant eagle-owl. The abbreviated morning session is focused for young children.

Falmouth Library Book Sale

Book sale will be October 15 & 16, 2011 at the Falmouth Library

The library appreciate donations, but please do not bring them books that have been exposed to moisture or missing covers or pages. They also do not accept magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, or Readers' Digest condensed books. (Sorry, but they just don't sell.)

They do accept DVDs and audio books that are complete and in good condition. They greatly appreciate donations that come in packing boxes because we are ALWAYS short of boxes. Please bring items to donate at least 2 days before set-up begins on Thursday.

If you have bags the Libabry can use, please drop them off too. Thank you!

LunchBox Friends Program at the Falmouth Library

In honor of our veterans, Peaks Island storyteller and Vietnam veteran Bill Hinderer will be on hand to tell us some of his Vietnam stories.

Not war stories, but personal experience stories filled with emotion, compassion and a touch of humor.

Anne has been a licensed Broker since 1997. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, her family moved to Maine when she was four years old. Anne attended school at St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from Deering High School in Portland and the University of Maine. After graduation Anne was asked to work at the University and ultimately served as the Executive Director of Alumni Relations before entering the field of real estate. When she was 22 she bought and renovated her first two family; then she bought a three family, built two personal residences and is presently finishing a restoration one of Falmouth's most unique homes. The First Annual Falmouth Event - SHOP FALMOUTH

Falmouth's First "Shop Falmouth Weekend" is planned for December 7, 8and 9 beginning with a "Drop and Shop" for children with games andpizza at the Motz School, Mason Gym sponsored by the FalmouthCommunity Programs. Children in grades K-6 will enjoy a pizza party,gym games, arts and crafts and more. Dinner will be provided from5:30 to 6 (pizza). Pre-registration is required. Take thisopportunity to visit Falmouth's wonderful shops and services duringthe holiday season. The 26th Annual Falmouth Community Tree Lightingis scheduled on Wednesday, December 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 at theFalmouth Village Park and will include a visit from Santa. FMI781-5253
