Portland Chamber Music Festival 18th Season: Osvaldo Golijov and Schubert

Osvaldo Golijov: Lullaby and Doina Schubert: Octet in F major, D. 803 We end our 18th season with a performance of Schubert’s great masterpiece, the Octet for Winds and Strings in F major. We can’t wait to share this awesome work with you for only the second time in our history!
The concert begins with a lyrical work for flute, clarinet and strings by Osvaldo Golijov, who was a Resident Composer at PCMF in 1995. The concert will be preceded by an informal pre-concert lecture by composer Elliott Schwartz at 7 PM.
