Assessing the Effects of Wind Energy Development in the Gulf of Maine with A. J. Leppold and R. L. Holberton, Laboratory of Avian Biology, University of Maine; a lecture on Tuesday, November 27 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Maine Audubon Society Gilsland Farm. Holberton and Leppold will give an overview of some of the current research underway as part of the large, collaborative Northeast Regional Migration Monitoring Network. Information they share regarding bird migration in the region will be presented in the context of existing and emerging challenges facing our migrants, with an emphasis on assessing potential impact ofon land-based and offshore wind energy development.
