SHOP FALMOUTH EVENT

FIRST SHOP FALMOUTH EVENT PLANNED




The Falmouth Ecoonomic Improvement Committee was created by the Town Council in 2011 to focus on economic development and support for local retail and professional service businesses, shops and not profits in Falmouth. The idea for an Annual Event to support these efforts in the town is a creation of the committee.



The 26th Annual Falmouth Community Tree Lighting will be held on December 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Falmouth Village Park. There will be cookie decorating, singing and a visit from Santa. Honoring the holiday spirit, please bring a canned good to donate to the Falmouth Food Pantry.



On Friday, December 7, Falmouth Community Programs is offering a "Drop and Shop" for children from 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations are required FMI 781-5252 x 5302 Pizza and a good evening of fun and games are planned for children and adults can dine, shop and walk around Town. Town Councilors will collect unwrapped toys and books from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday evening in front of the Plummer-Motz office.



On Saturday, December 8, the Maine Audubon is sponsoring their extremely popular, annual "Eyes on Owls" program. Naturalist Marcia Wilson and photographer Mark Wilson will present the owls. There will be hooting lessons, an entertaining slide show and a close-up look at several different species. The morning is tailored to young children. This is one of the most popular events at the Audubon so you are encouraged to call them an make a reservation at 781-2330 ext. 273.



During the week end December 6, 7 and 8 the Theatre Company at Falmouth High will present, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" Emaill theatre@falmouth schools.org for more information.



Family Ice will be open during the week-end. Sunday, December 9 has two interesting events. Volksmarch - the "People's Walk" will start at the Maine Audubon Society at Gilsand Farm in Falmouth. FMI 781-2330 Also on the day "Wreaths Across America" will be coming through Town on Rte One about 4:25 pm. on its way to Arlington Cemetery. The convoy is made up of 50 vehicles including tractor trailers, motorcycles, support vehicles and police vehicles. Please watch for updated information on this event.
