UPCOMING EXHIBITS AT FALMOUTH MEMORIAL LIBRARY
There are over 70 quilting members of Cobblestone Quilters. They are joined together by their love of quilting, fabric art, and creativity. A selection of their work will be on display at the Falmouth Library during the month of January. A variety of quilts and quilting techniques will be exhibited - miniatures to full sized quilts, hand and machine sewn quilts, applique quilts, redwork, art quilts and more.
Falmouth Artist, Ann Allan began studying drawing at a MECA class about six years ago. Her pure graphite pencil work is often a sparse arrangement of rather ordinary objects - a favorite teapot, paper bags, sinuous fruits and vegetables. Her graphite and paper collage pieces are created with layers of rubbed tones of pale grays and blacks, ink marks and muted shades of found and torn papers that are all about luminosity and quietness. She has lived in Falmouth since1978.
