MAINE AUDUBON OFFERS WINTER HIKING WORKSHOP
On Wednesday, January 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Maine Audubon at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth experienced winter leaders Peter Broderick and Laura Flight for an introduction to clothing, gear, snow travel, and taking care of yourself in the winter in outdoor settings. Learn to stay warm, dry and functional. Sponsored by the Maine Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. This workshop has been rescheduled from December 17th weather cancellation.
This event is intended as an introductory course for experienced three-season hikers and a refresher for experienced winter adventurers. Although the focus of the workshop is on winter hiking, many of the topics will be an excellent "things-you-need-to-know-before-you-go" for anyone who will be spending time out of doors this winter.
